Places to Visit
Smithy Cottage B & B is well placed for visiting many places. Our location is rural but the M6 is only four miles away giving ease of access to the lakes, Carlisle and the Borders, Northumberland and Hadrians Wall.
We are surrounded by beautiful countryside waiting to be walked, climbed or cycled, but also have many beautiful small market towns which offer a range of different experiences, like the Georgian town of Cockermouth, the historic market town of Appleby and the lake side town of Keswick.
There are a range of AA award winning drives in the area, so if walking is not your thing you can enjoy the amazing vistas from the comfort of your car.
Whatever the weather there is always something to do here, and somewhere interesting to discover. We are only too happy to help you plan your days and make the most of whatever time you have here.
